PUMPKIN, POLLS, AND PIES
Yes, it’s still hot but summer is coming to an end. Boy, what a summer?! I don’t know about you, but I have to say mine was fun and crazy and had some twists and turns. More on that later. You know summer is ending by the signs. The kids go back to school, men start talking about football, pumpkin spice everywhere – Starbucks launched early this year, and making its 4 year appearance, the elections. Of the aforementioned items, pumpkin spice is my favorite. I know it’s a little overdone, but it tastes sooo good. I think I set a personal record this summer for places visited in a 3-month period. I’m exhausted but it was definitely worth it. Traveling is good for the soul, it’s like a reboot button.
My summer travels started local with Palm Springs, then I jumped on a few planes and went to Cancun, Houston, Dallas, and Grenada. So Dallas was business and sadly Houston was for a funeral of a dear friend. I’m from Houston so I was basically going home and had the opportunity to see some dear people I consider family. Cancun was amazing, the beaches were almost perfect. However, the perfect beaches were in Grand Anse, St. George’s Grenada. Grenada is the motherland, i.e. my mother and father are from Grenada, that’s why I’m a little biased. I had a blast just lounging around on the beach eating delicious food and seeing family.
Between travels I did quite a bit locally. Living in Los Angeles can be like a mini vacation every weekend. One of my favorite things I did was attend a few concerts at the summer jazz series at LACMA, Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The best part is that it was free. Well mostly free, in LA there are always parking costs.
As we say our farewells to summer we get to say hello to sweater weather. Well, you may get to, I technically have another month of 80-degree days here in SoCal. Fall is fast approaching and bringing with it PSL, elections, football, and pie baking. I won’t be able to really enjoy my first pumpkin spice anything until the temperature drops a little. I always like a little crisp in the air to really get that fall feel when I’m sipping my PSL. With pumpkin comes pies, football, and this year an extra guest, the elections.
Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night. Any person paying the slightest bit of attention knows this election cycle is going to be extreme. I suggest we all take our mental health seriously and do what we need to remain stable for the next 2 months. Remember, this too shall pass. In the meantime check out our limited edition Peaceful Polls Luxury Election Box. This box contains all sorts of goodies to help you maintain your peace during the election, including snacks! It’s like comfort in a box.
From a fun and hectic summer right into a hectic fall, I wish you peace, love, and happiness. Stay hydrated, sleep, exercise and eat some vegetables.
